Dr. Kubinak loves thinking about MHC diversity, antibodies, and microbial pathogenesis. When he isn’t ‘nerding-out’ to these things he enjoys DIY projects at home, collecting insects, bird-watching, and catching snakes and lizards with his three little boys!
Amy Jolly (Lab Assistant)

Amy joined the Kubinak Lab in January 2018. She keeps our lab running by managing day-to-day operations. She also does a fantastic job managing our mouse colony and making sure our critters are well-cared for. Her background in immunology makes her a fantastic instructor of undergraduates. Amy loves science, animals, and almost anything medical-related. She enjoys going to the zoo, following safariLIVE, and searching the internet for a variety of things. She is also a Clemson fan!
Ahmed Dawood Mohammed (graduate Student)

Ahmed joined the Kubinak Lab in December 2017. Ahmed comes to us from Iraq where he was a lecturer at the University of Baghdad. His research focuses on celiac disease and he is about to submit his very first firth-author paper detailing the results of his experiments! When Ahmed isn’t in the lab he enjoys spending time with his 5 children and wife camping, hunting, and being outdoors!

Mireya is a USC PREP-Scholar who is spending one year in the Kubinak Lab to obtain research experience and see what life is like for a graduate students. She intends on applying to graduate school in the Fall of 2019. When Mireya isn’t in the lab she enjoys binge watching a series every now and then and pretending to be cultured by attending ballet's, classical music concerts, musicals and/or opera's (whenever she can afford it!).

Elizabeth is volunteering in the Kubinak Lab to gain research experience. Elizabeth has been in the lab since October 2018 and she has been doing a great job learning basic molecular techniques and assisting Amy in mouse genotyping. When Elizabeth isn’t in the lab she enjoys going for walks, listening to podcasts, and painting!
